1:1 SEN Sports Teaching Assistant - Post-16 Provision
Location: Peterborough
Salary: £90-£100 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term (term-time only)
Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for a specialist 1:1 SEN Sports Teaching Assistant to work with one of our unique and forward-thinking post-16 education providers in Peterborough.
This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong sports background and experience supporting post-16 students with additional needs who are undertaking sports-related courses. A passion for sport and the ability to use it as a tool to engage, motivate, and support learners is essential.
About the Role
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a post-16 student
- Support students during sports-based lessons and practical activities
- Help students stay focused, engaged, and emotionally regulated
- Work with learners both in the classroom and within the provider's specialist support provision
- Build positive relationships and act as a consistent, trusted support figure
We're Looking for Someone Who:
- Has experience working with post-16 learners and/or students with SEN
- Has a strong sports background or sports-related qualifications
- Is confident supporting students on sports courses
- Is patient, adaptable, and able to engage learners through sport
- Is passionate about helping young people develop confidence, independence, and life skills
