SEMH Teaching Assistant - South Birmingham

Contract Type: Long Term / Full-Time
Salary: £90-£105 Daily Rate
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team for a long-term placement through Tradewind
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to pupils with SEMH needs in a classroom and 1:1 setting.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and managing behaviour effectively.
- Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.
- Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs (school or alternative provision).
- Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach.
- Ability to build positive relationships and encourage pupil engagement.
- A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
