Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor / Keyworker to join our team working across alternative provision settings in Basildon and Romford. This is a long-term, full-time role supporting pupils who require additional behavioural, emotional, and social support.
The Role
As a Behaviour Mentor / Keyworker, you will:
Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs
Act as a keyworker for allocated students, building strong, trusting relationships
Support pupils to manage behaviour, regulate emotions, and re-engage with education
Work closely with teaching staff, SEN professionals, and external agencies
Support looked after children (LAC) and pupils with complex backgrounds
Travel between sites as required
The Ideal Candidate
Experience working with SEMH pupils is highly desirable
Experience supporting looked after children is preferred
Calm, consistent, and resilient approach to behaviour management
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Must be a car driver with access to a vehicle due to travel between sites
