Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor / Keyworker to join our team working across alternative provision settings in Basildon and Romford. This is a long-term, full-time role supporting pupils who require additional behavioural, emotional, and social support.

The Role

As a Behaviour Mentor / Keyworker, you will:

  • Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs

  • Act as a keyworker for allocated students, building strong, trusting relationships

  • Support pupils to manage behaviour, regulate emotions, and re-engage with education

  • Work closely with teaching staff, SEN professionals, and external agencies

  • Support looked after children (LAC) and pupils with complex backgrounds

  • Travel between sites as required

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with SEMH pupils is highly desirable

  • Experience supporting looked after children is preferred

  • Calm, consistent, and resilient approach to behaviour management

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing

  • Must be a car driver with access to a vehicle due to travel between sites
