Start your teaching journey with a clear route into SCITT
Location: Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire
Contract: 1-3 school terms (via agency)
Progression: Priority interview for a School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) programme
Are you a recent graduate or coming to the end of your university studies and considering a career in education? We are working alongside a respected local SCITT provider to offer graduates the chance to gain meaningful school-based experience before moving into formal teacher training.
The Role
You will be placed in a supportive school in Huntingdon, working closely with teachers and pupils on a daily basis while building confidence and key classroom skills. This is an ideal opportunity to gain a realistic insight into teaching before committing to a training course.
On completion of the placement, you will be offered a priority interview with the partner SCITT programme, providing a clear pathway towards achieving QTS.
Responsibilities
- Support pupils during lessons, in small groups, or on a 1:1 basis
- Work alongside teachers to support lesson delivery and classroom activities
- Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Develop behaviour management and leadership skills
- Contribute to pupils' progress and overall wellbeing
We're Looking For
- A degree in any subject area
- An interest in working with children or young people
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A positive, proactive, and adaptable approach
- A clear intention to progress into Initial Teacher Training (ITT)
