Are you a passionate and dedicated Tutor ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people across the Newcastle upon Tyne area? We are seeking motivated and skilled tutors to provide targeted academic support in English, Maths, and Science, helping students overcome barriers, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

This role offers a mix of in-school tutoring and virtual/online tuition, delivering predominantly 1:1 support, with regular opportunities to work with small groups (typically 2-5 students).

The Opportunity

  • Deliver specialist tuition in English, Maths, and Science across secondary key stages

  • Work within secondary schools, colleges, and through online platforms

  • Provide predominantly 1:1 tuition with small group interventions

  • Support personalised learning programmes aimed at closing attainment gaps

  • Make a direct and measurable impact on student confidence and progress

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging, and differentiated tuition sessions

  • Assess individual learning needs and monitor student progress

  • Provide constructive feedback to students and relevant stakeholders

  • Adapt teaching strategies to suit individual learning styles and needs

  • Maintain clear communication with school staff and agency consultants

  • Uphold safeguarding and professional standards at all times

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience tutoring or teaching secondary-level English, Maths, and Science

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a relevant degree in a core subject area is highly desirable but not essential

  • Experienced non-QTS subject specialists will also be considered

  • Strong communication, organisation, and relationship-building skills

  • A patient, adaptable, and reliable approach with a genuine passion for education

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one

  • Ability to provide strong professional references
