Science Technician - Secondary School - Brent - ASAP Start - Full-Time

Tradewind Recruitment is working with welcoming and well-regarded secondary schools in Brent that is seeking a Science Technician to join their Science departments on a full-time, long-term basis, starting ASAP. This is an excellent opportunity to support practical science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in a busy and well-resourced department.

Science Technician - Role Overview

As a Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of Science across KS3 and KS4. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing, setting up, and clearing away equipment for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics practical lessons

  • Ensuring laboratories are safe, clean, and well-organised at all times

  • Supporting teachers during practical lessons and supervising experiments when required

  • Managing, storing, and maintaining science equipment and resources

  • Preparing materials, solutions, and apparatus in line with health and safety guidelines

  • Supporting risk assessments and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations

  • Assisting with stock control, ordering supplies, and maintaining inventory

  • Supporting students during practical work where appropriate

Requirements

  • A degree in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related subject) or previous experience as a Science Technician

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

  • A good understanding of laboratory health and safety procedures

  • Confidence supporting KS3 and KS4 Science practical work

  • A proactive, reliable, and team-oriented approach

  • Previous school-based or laboratory experience is desirable but not essential

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
