Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and inspiring Tutors to support children and young people across Hull and the East Riding who are currently outside of mainstream education.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to learners who may have additional needs, SEND, SEMH, anxiety, medical needs, or disrupted educational experiences.
About the Role
Deliver 1:1 or small-group tuition to pupils from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 5
Provide tailored learning programmes aligned to individual needs, abilities, and EHCP outcomes (where applicable)
Support learners in core subjects and/or specialist areas
Build positive, trusting relationships to re-engage learners with education
Deliver sessions in a variety of settings, including homes, community venues, or alternative provisions
Maintain clear session records and feedback
Who We're Looking For
We welcome applications from:
Qualified Teachers (QTS/QTLS)
Experienced Tutors
HLTAs or Teaching Assistants with relevant experience
Professionals with strong subject knowledge and experience supporting vulnerable learners
You will ideally have:
Experience working with children and young people outside mainstream education
Confidence supporting learners with SEND, SEMH, or behavioural challenges
A calm, patient, and flexible approach
Strong communication and organisational skills
A genuine passion for helping young people succeed
