Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and inspiring Tutors to support children and young people across Hull and the East Riding who are currently outside of mainstream education.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to learners who may have additional needs, SEND, SEMH, anxiety, medical needs, or disrupted educational experiences.

About the Role

  • Deliver 1:1 or small-group tuition to pupils from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 5

  • Provide tailored learning programmes aligned to individual needs, abilities, and EHCP outcomes (where applicable)

  • Support learners in core subjects and/or specialist areas

  • Build positive, trusting relationships to re-engage learners with education

  • Deliver sessions in a variety of settings, including homes, community venues, or alternative provisions

  • Maintain clear session records and feedback

Who We're Looking For

We welcome applications from:

  • Qualified Teachers (QTS/QTLS)

  • Experienced Tutors

  • HLTAs or Teaching Assistants with relevant experience

  • Professionals with strong subject knowledge and experience supporting vulnerable learners

You will ideally have:

  • Experience working with children and young people outside mainstream education

  • Confidence supporting learners with SEND, SEMH, or behavioural challenges

  • A calm, patient, and flexible approach

  • Strong communication and organisational skills

  • A genuine passion for helping young people succeed
