SEN Teaching Assistant - Southend

Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a supportive and inclusive school in Southend, Essex, which is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join its team. This is a full-time role and, for the right candidate, may lead to a permanent position or further training opportunities within the school.

This is a highly rewarding role where you will work closely with pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism, ADHD, and other additional learning needs. Support may be provided on a 1:1 basis, in small groups, or within the classroom, depending on the needs of the pupils and the setting.

You will be fully supported by experienced class teachers, the SENCO, and the Senior Leadership Team, ensuring you feel confident and well-equipped to succeed in your role.

The Role

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN and additional learning needs

  • Support learning on a 1:1, small group, or in-class basis

  • Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation

  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
