Primary SEND Teaching Assistant

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Enfield to recruit a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis, starting as soon as possible.

This role is ideal for someone experienced in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH, within a mainstream primary setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND

  • Support children with additional learning, communication, and emotional needs

  • Implement individual education and behaviour support plans

  • Assist the class teacher in adapting lessons to meet pupils' needs

  • Support positive behaviour and engagement in learning

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and parents

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with primary SEND pupils

  • Understanding of ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language needs

  • Patient, proactive, and nurturing approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Available full time and able to start ASAP
