MFL Teacher / Instructor (French, Spanish or German) - Barrow-in-Furness

Secondary School | Full-Time or Part-Time | £120-£200 per day

Starting ASAP on a long-term basis through to Summer 2026, this position is open to both fully qualified teachers and experienced instructors. You will join a supportive department that prides itself on cultural enrichment and academic success.


The Role

As an MFL Specialist, you will be an integral part of the secondary faculty, responsible for:

  • High-Quality Delivery: Teaching French, Spanish, or German across KS3 and KS4.

  • GCSE Preparation: Guiding Year 10 and 11 students through their exams with a focus on attainment and confidence.

  • Creative Planning: Designing interactive lessons that bring language to life through culture, media, and authentic texts.

  • Assessment & Feedback: Tracking pupil progress and providing tailored support to ensure every student reaches their potential.

  • School Culture: Contributing to a positive learning environment and supporting the wider school ethos.

What We Are Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is preferred, but we welcome applications from experienced MFL Instructors with a strong track record.

  • A degree in a Modern Foreign Language (French, Spanish, or German) or equivalent expertise.

  • Previous experience delivering the curriculum in a Secondary School setting.

  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage learners of all abilities.

  • Enhanced DBS clearance and a full 10-year employment history.
