Early Years & SEN Teaching Assistants - Wandsworth
Location: London Borough of Wandsworth
Start Date: ASAP or after Easter 2026
We are currently seeking enthusiastic Early Years and SEN Teaching Assistants to join primary schools across Wandsworth. These roles are perfect for individuals who are passionate about supporting children's learning and development, whether in the Early Years (Nursery and Reception) or in 1:1 SEN support roles for pupils with additional needs.
Opportunities Available:
Early Years Classroom Support - Assist Nursery and Reception teachers with daily learning activities, play-based sessions, and early literacy and numeracy skills. Support children in developing confidence, communication, and social skills in a nurturing environment.
1:1 SEN Support - Work closely with individual pupils who require additional support. Help them access the curriculum, develop key skills, and achieve their personal learning goals.
Small Group Support & Interventions - Lead or assist with small group activities in literacy, numeracy, or social-emotional development, supporting teachers in targeted interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
Support teachers in delivering lessons and structured activities
Work with pupils individually or in small groups to meet learning objectives
Assist with classroom organisation, preparation of materials, and creating a positive, welcoming learning environment
Observe and report on pupil progress, sharing feedback with the teacher and SENCO
Encourage pupil engagement, confidence, and independence in learning
Candidate Profile:
Previous experience in Early Years or SEN settings is desirable but not essential
Positive, patient, and enthusiastic with a genuine interest in supporting children
Ability to adapt to the needs of different pupils and year groups
Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply
Available 3-5 days per week
