Complex Needs Teaching Assistant - SEN Schools in Canterbury
Full-time or part-time - £90 per day - ASAP start - Monday to Friday 8.30am-3.30pm

Ad-hoc and potential to a long-term position - if long-term you need to be available full-time

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking resilient and committed Teaching Assistants to join various SEN Schools in Canterbury that cater for children with Complex Needs.


The Role

  • Supporting students on a 1:1 or small group basis with a range of Complex Needs, including ASD, ADHD, communication difficulties, and challenging behaviour.

  • Managing and de-escalating behavioural incidents with confidence and professionalism.

  • Being a positive role model and someone who genuinely wants to make a difference - this role is not just a 'job' for you.

  • Taking initiative in the classroom and building meaningful, consistent relationships.


Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Behaviour Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant or working in a pastoral/intervention SEN setting is highly desirable.

  • Must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS (child-only) on the update service or be willing to get a new one. A new DBS costs £62 and we will reimburse the £62 once you complete 20 days of work with us.

  • If you have been out of the UK in the last 5 years for 6 months or more, you will also need to obtain an overseas police check.

  • References must cover at least 6 months from the last two years, plus your most recent relevant reference.
