SANZA Teaching Agency is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant for a highly regarded secondary SEND school in Harrow, North West London. This is a full-time, long-term SEND Teaching Assistant job starting ASAP, with strong potential to continue into the next academic year.

The Role - SEND Teaching Assistant (Secondary)

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 11 female pupil with complex learning needs, behavioural needs, and epilepsy, including managing and responding to frequent seizures.

This role requires a First Aid trained SEND Teaching Assistant who is calm under pressure, confident supporting medical needs, and experienced in secondary SEND settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver 1:1 SEND support in a secondary classroom

  • Support emotional regulation and implement positive behaviour strategies

  • Manage medical needs, including epilepsy and seizure response

  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and support staff

  • Promote independence, safety and inclusion in a specialist SEND school

The Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant

  • Proven experience in a secondary SEND school or specialist provision

  • Experience supporting pupils with complex needs

  • Strong behaviour management skills using positive strategies

  • Current First Aid qualification (essential)

  • Calm, patient, resilient and highly empathetic

  • Available immediately for handover
