Job Description

Tradewind Recruitment is looking for enthusiastic and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistants to join schools across the Gainsborough area. You'll be supporting children and young people from KS1 to KS5 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them access education, build resilience, and achieve their potential.

This is a rewarding role where you can make a real difference-helping students develop confidence, manage their emotions, and thrive in a structured and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support for students with SEMH needs

  • Support pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development

  • Assist with delivering differentiated lessons and learning activities

  • Implement behaviour management strategies and individual learning targets

  • Promote independence and build positive relationships with students

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, specialist staff, and support teams to enhance learning and well-being

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs

  • Patient, calm, and adaptable approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and positive intervention techniques

  • Enhanced DBS (or willing to apply)

  • Legal right to work in the UK
