SEN Education Jobs - supporting students with special educational needs in a therapeutic learning environment.

A specialist SEN provision is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, supporting students with complex learning needs in a therapeutic education environment.

The school is known for its holistic approach, where academic progress is combined with emotional and social development. Staff work alongside therapists and specialist professionals to support students with additional needs.

Special Educational Needs Supported within the setting include:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)
  • Moderate learning difficulties
  • Speech and communication challenges
  • Emotional regulation difficulties

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide classroom and small-group support
  • Assist teachers with differentiated learning activities
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement
  • Support social development and independence
  • Work collaboratively with teaching and therapy staff

Ideal Candidate(s):

  • Previous experience supporting SEN students is beneficial
  • Experience working with children or young people is preferred
  • Patient, empathetic and supportive approach
  • Passion in supporting within specialist education is required
