The Opportunity
Are you a highly organized professional with a knack for multitasking? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated School Office Administrator to join a vibrant school community in Lancaster.
We are looking for someone to join the team immediately. As the first point of contact for parents, students, and visitors, you will play a vital role in the smooth day-to-day running of the school. This is a fantastic opportunity to hit the ground running and provide essential support during a busy period in the academic calendar.
Key Responsibilities
Front of House: Provide a warm and professional welcome to all visitors, managing the reception area and handling telephone inquiries efficiently.
Attendance & Data: Maintain accurate student records using school management systems (e.g., SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom), ensuring all attendance data is up to date. - Preferred bu tnot essentila - trainign wil be given
Communication: Draft and distribute school newsletters, emails to parents, and official correspondence with high attention to detail.
Operational Support: Assist the School Business Manager with basic financial tasks, such as ordering supplies or coordinating school events.
Safeguarding: Ensure all visitors follow the school's security and safeguarding protocols, including DBS verification and sign-in procedures.
Requirements & Skills
We are looking for a "people person" who remains calm under pressure and is ready to start right away.
Experience: Previous experience in an administrative role is essential. Experience within an educational setting is a major advantage.
Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to adapt to school-specific databases quickly.
Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills-you'll be a key ambassador for the school.
Availability: Must be available for an immediate start and hold (or be willing to process) an enhanced DBS check.
