About the Role
This is a genuinely special opportunity to join a thriving nursery school and children's centre at the very heart of the Clapham community. This is a split role - 50% dedicated SENCO responsibilities and 50% class teaching - making it the perfect position for someone who loves being in the classroom but also has the expertise, empathy and organisational skills to lead special educational needs provision across the setting.
You'll be working with some of the most fascinating, rewarding and complex learners in education - young children at the very start of their journey, many of whom need skilled, patient and knowledgeable support to truly flourish.
This is a permanent position for the right candidate.

As SENCO you will:
- Lead and coordinate SEN provision across the nursery and children's centre
- Manage and review EHCPs, working closely with the local authority
- Liaise with parents, carers, health visitors, speech and language therapists and other external professionals
- Support and advise colleagues on meeting the needs of children with SEND
- Maintain the SEND register and ensure all statutory responsibilities are met
- Champion an inclusive culture throughout the setting
As an EYFS Teacher you will:
- Deliver high quality, play-based learning for nursery aged children
- Plan and assess in line with the EYFS framework
- Build warm, trusting relationships with children and families
- Support children's early communication, social and emotional development

What We're Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- National Award for SEN Coordination - NASENCo (essential)
- Proven experience working in an EYFS or early years setting
- Strong working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP process
- Experience coordinating or leading SEN provision, ideally in an early years context
- A confident, collaborative approach to working with families and external agencies
- Warmth, patience and a deeply inclusive outlook
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities with calm efficiency
