SEN Specialist Teaching Assistant - PMLD & Complex Needs

We are currently recruiting for SEN Specialist Teaching Assistants to support pupils with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) and complex needs in a specialist SEN setting.

This role involves supporting pupils with a range of needs including autism, complex medical needs, physical disabilities, sensory needs and communication difficulties. Some pupils require personal care, mobility support and 1:1 support throughout the school day.

This is a highly rewarding role and would suit candidates with experience in:

The Role

• Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups
• Assisting with personal care
• Supporting pupils with mobility and physical needs
• Supporting communication and sensory activities
• Working closely with teachers and therapists
• Helping create a safe, supportive learning environment

Requirements

• Experience supporting children or adults with SEN, PMLD or complex needs
• Patient, calm and caring nature
• Team Teach or moving & handling training desirable (not essential)
• Comfortable supporting with personal care desireable (not essential)
• DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
