SEMH Teaching Assistant - Ellesmere Port

Full-time | Long-term | £95-£105 per day

Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a SEMH Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist setting in Ellesmere Port, supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, behaviour needs and additional learning needs.

This role is ideal for candidates with experience in:

• SEMH schools
• Behaviour support
• PRUs / Alternative Provision
• Youth work
• Sports coaching
• Support work
• Residential care
• Teaching Assistant work

The Role

• Supporting students on a 1:1 and small group basis
• Managing behaviour and supporting emotional regulation
• Building positive relationships with pupils
• Supporting students who may display challenging behaviour
• Working closely with teachers and pastoral teams
• Helping students engage with education and learning

Requirements

• Experience working with children or adults with SEMH, behaviour needs or SEN
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Calm, resilient and patient personality
• DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
• Team Teach training desirable (not essential)
