Graduate Teaching Assistant - English Focus - Ealing
Start Date: September
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only
Pay: £95-£105 per day (depending on experience)

A high‑performing secondary school in Ealing is recruiting a Graduate Teaching Assistant with a particular interest in English. This opportunity is ideal for a graduate considering teacher training and looking to develop their classroom confidence ahead of a PGCE, School Direct or SCITT pathway.

You will be embedded within the English department while also supporting pupils more broadly across Key Stages 3 and 4. The school has a strong focus on mentoring, consistent behaviour routines and staff development, making it an excellent environment for aspiring teachers.

Key Responsibilities:
* Support pupils within English lessons and foundation subjects
* Deliver targeted 1:1 and small‑group literacy interventions
* Assist teachers with lessons, resources and classroom organisation
* Promote positive behaviour, engagement and academic confidence
* Observe and learn effective classroom management strategies

The Ideal Candidate:
* A graduate in English or a related discipline (or strong interest in the subject)
* Motivated to pursue a career in teaching
* Confident, patient and professional with secondary‑aged students
* Any experience working with young people is advantageous but not essential
