1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant - SEN School in Canterbury
Full-time - £93 per day - ASAP start
Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm

The Role

• Provide 1:1 support to a male secondary-aged pupil with SEMH needs.
• Support learning, emotional development, and behaviour management.
• Help de-escalate incidents calmly and professionally.
• Build a trusting, positive relationship with the pupil, acting as a consistent role model.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to meet the pupil's individual needs.

Requirements

• Prior experience as a Behaviour Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or in a pastoral/intervention SEN setting is highly desirable.
• Strong behaviour management skills, emotional resilience, and a calm, non-confrontational approach.
• Must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS (child-only) on the update service, or get a new one (we reimburse £62 after 20 days of work).
• If you have been outside the UK in the last 5 years for 6 months or more, an overseas police check will be required.
