Unqualified Science Teacher - Wellingborough
Location: Wellingborough
Start Date: April or September 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time | Long-Term | Potential for Permanent Placement
Daily Rate: £100-£160 (based on experience and role responsibilities)

Secondary schools in Wellingborough are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join their teams as Unqualified Science Teachers from April or September 2026. These full-time, long-term roles are ideal for graduates or career changers looking to build experience in education while making a real difference in students' learning.

Whether your background is in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related scientific field, this is an excellent opportunity to step into the classroom and develop your teaching skills-no QTS required at this stage.

Role Highlights:

  • Deliver engaging and interactive Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Break down complex scientific concepts into clear, accessible explanations
  • Encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of Science
  • Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment
  • Assist with marking, assessment, and providing constructive feedback
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and safeguarding procedures

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • A degree in a science-related subject (e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or similar)
  • A genuine interest in teaching and supporting young people
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence to lead a classroom with support from experienced staff
  • A desire to progress into teacher training (PGCE, SCITT, or apprenticeship routes)
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
