Year 2 Teaching Assistant

Are you a passionate educator looking to make a real impact in a vibrant local community? Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a friendly Primary School in Wigan.

This is a full-time position supporting a lively Year 2 class, starting as soon as possible and running through until the end of the academic year in July.

The Role

As a Year 2 Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping pupils transition through Key Stage 1. Your day-to-day will involve:

Supporting the Class Teacher in delivering engaging lessons.

Leading small group interventions in Phonics, Literacy, and Numeracy.

Providing 1:1 support for pupils who require extra guidance to reach their milestones.

Assisting with classroom management and creating a positive learning environment.

Helping prepare the children for their end-of-year assessments in a low-pressure, supportive way.

What We're Looking For:

Experience: Previous experience working within a Primary School setting (specifically KS1 is a bonus).

Qualifications: A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred, but experienced candidates are encouraged to apply.

DBS: An enhanced DBS on the update service (or the willingness to apply for one).

Personality: A proactive "can-do" attitude, patience, and a genuine love for working with children.
