Salary: £168.80 - £261.78 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
The Opportunity
Tradewind Recruitment are working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in Durham to recruit a talented and enthusiastic English Teacher to start as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive department and deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
You'll play a key role in developing students' literacy, analytical thinking, and love for literature, helping them build essential skills for academic success and beyond.
Your Role Will Include:
- Delivering high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Teaching a range of topics including literature, language, and creative writing
- Planning engaging and differentiated lessons to meet diverse learner needs
- Assessing, monitoring, and supporting student progress
- Managing classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
- Contributing to the wider school community where required

What We're Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching English in UK secondary schools
- Strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills
- A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- A passion for education and inspiring young learners
- Adaptability and confidence across different school settings
