SEN Teacher - Alternative Provision | Barnsley | Flexible Supply Opportunities

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Teacher to work within alternative provisions in Barnsley. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher or a passionate educator looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people who require a more tailored and supportive approach to learning.

About the Role
You will be working with students who have a range of special educational needs, including social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. The provision offers a nurturing and structured environment where the focus is on re-engaging students with education, building confidence, and supporting both academic and personal development.

This role requires someone who is adaptable, patient, and committed to inclusive education. Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
  • Support students with EHCPs and additional learning requirements
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Work collaboratively with support staff and external professionals
  • Monitor and track student progress, adapting approaches where necessary

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working with SEN and/or within alternative provisions
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
  • A proactive and compassionate approach
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
