MFL Teacher (French) - Full-Time | Barrow-in-Furness

Location: Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria

Salary: £168.80 per day up to M3 Teacher pay scale per day (Paid PAYE)

Contract: Full-Time, Temporary to Permanent

Start Date: ASAP - 17th July 2026

The Opportunity

Are you a passionate MFL Teacher looking for a long-term commitment in Barrow-in-Furness?

We are seeking a dedicated French Specialist to join a vibrant secondary school community. This is a full-time position (5 days per week) starting immediately and running through the full academic year until July 2026. This role is perfect for a teacher who thrives on continuity and wants to make a lasting impact on their pupils' linguistic development.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging French lessons across KS3 and KS4.

  • Plan and prepare high-quality resources that cater to a range of learning abilities.

  • Track pupil progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage growth.

  • Maintain a positive classroom environment in line with the school's behaviour policy.

  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the wider school community.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Specialism in French (ability to teach a second language is a bonus).

  • Proven track record of managing a classroom effectively.

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).

  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
