Teaching Assistants - Primary Schools (Supporting Children with Additional Needs)

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking caring, patient, and dedicated Teaching Assistants to work in mainstream primary schools, supporting children with additional needs.

This is a highly rewarding role where you will play a vital part in helping pupils access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential within an inclusive classroom environment.

The Role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs (including SEN, SEMH, ASD, and ADHD)

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons

  • Support pupils with their social, emotional, and academic development

  • Implement targeted interventions and personalised learning strategies

  • Help to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working with children with additional needs in a school or similar setting

  • Be patient, empathetic, and resilient

  • Have strong communication and behaviour management skills

  • Be proactive and able to adapt to individual pupil needs

  • Hold a relevant TA qualification (desirable but not essential)
