PRU Support Workers - Secondary Alternative Provision

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking resilient, compassionate, and proactive PRU Support Workers to work in Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) and alternative provisions.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people who are unable to access mainstream education due to social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, behavioural challenges, or other complex barriers to learning.
The Role:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to students in a PRU setting
Support pupils with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, and disengagement from education
Assist teachers in delivering tailored and engaging learning activities
Build positive relationships and act as a role model and mentor
Promote emotional regulation, confidence, and re-engagement with learning
Help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience working with young people with SEMH or behavioural needs (education, youth work, care, or similar backgrounds)
Be calm, patient, and resilient under pressure
Have strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
Be adaptable and able to respond to a dynamic environment
Be passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable young people
