Corporate Social Responsibility at Tradewind

At Tradewind, we believe recruitment should have a positive impact, not just in classrooms but for the communities and future generations we serve. Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) approach reflects our commitment to ethical recruitment, sustainability, community support, and strengthening education across the UK.

Our Commitment

Our CSR commitments guide how we operate every day; from the way we support our colleagues and candidates to how we work with schools and reduce our environmental impact. We are committed to:

  • Ethical and transparent recruitment practices
  • Supporting education, children, and schools
  • Reducing our environmental footprint
  • Investing in our people and wider communities

Our CSR Pillars

Social

Our people are at the heart of everything we do and we’re committed to supporting an inclusive environment where our colleagues can thrive both personally and professionally.

Wellbeing and Support

We are committed to creating a supportive and inclusive workplace for our people. All colleagues have access to our Employee Assistance Programme, providing confidential wellbeing, mental health, and practical support.

Learning and Development

Through our Impact Academy, we invest in ongoing training and professional development. This ensures our teams are equipped to grow, succeed, and deliver the highest level of service to schools and candidates alike.

Environmental

We continuously take steps to minimise our environmental impact across our business operations. Our environmental initiatives include:

  • Recycling and waste management facilities across all offices
  • Elimination of single use plastics in offices and events
  • Installation of water machines to reduce plastic bottle waste
  • Fully paperless operations, including invoicing and documentation
  • Use of a fully electric company car
  • Active encouragement of public transport to reduce emissions
  • Desk bin free offices to reduce waste and promote responsible recycling

These measures help embed sustainable behaviours into everyday working practices.

Governance

We are committed to operating responsibly and with integrity. Strong governance underpins everything we do and ensures accountability across our organisation.

  • REC Certified, demonstrating adherence to recognised recruitment standards
  • Robust ethical governance policies, including:Complaints procedure
    -Safeguarding policy
    -Anti bribery and corruption policy
    -Diversity, Equality & Inclusion commitments
    -Modern slavery compliance
-Transparent recruitment processes that protect candidates, schools, and colleagues
-Inclusive hiring standards to ensure fairness and equal opportunity throughout our recruitment practices

Community

Giving back to education and the communities we work in is central to our purpose. These partnerships help extend our impact beyond recruitment and into long term educational support.

Charity of the Year: Children with Cancer UK

We support Children with Cancer UK as our Charity of the Year, raising funds through employee led initiatives, challenges, and events.

Giving Something Back Fund

Each year, our Giving Something Back Fund supports local school communities through donations that help fund learning resources, wellbeing initiatives, and essential supplies.

Education Partnerships

We work in partnership with Titan Partnership, supporting schools and education initiatives in Birmingham and Stier Support, delivering coaching, leadership development, and professional growth programmes centred around the belief that everyone deserves the Freedom to Flourish.

Our Impact in Numbers

We are pleased to share figures that reflect our commitment to social, environmental, and community impact.

  • £800+ raised internally for Children with Cancer UK in the current school year
  • £2,500+ allocated annually through the Giving Something Back Fund
  • 13 offices operating recycling facilities and eliminating single use paper
  • 100% paperless invoicing and digital document processes

Looking Ahead

We are committed to continually strengthening our CSR efforts and increasing our positive impact. We believe meaningful change comes from continuous improvement and we are committed to building on what we have already achieved.

Our priorities include:

  • Delivering our Carbon Reduction Plan, focusing on emissions reduction and improved recycling performance
  • Increasing employee participation in charity fundraising and community initiatives
  • Expanding partnerships with schools, MATs, and education organisations
