Every child in Blackpool deserves a holiday that is more than just time off from school. Tradewind Recruitment is proud to partner with Blackpool Council to support the Holiday Activities and Food Programme, or HAF, which provides vital support to disadvantaged children.
Why HAF Matters
The HAF Programme ensures children eligible for benefits-related free school meals have access to nutritious food, structured activities, and opportunities to socialise during school holidays. Children receive free holiday places for at least four hours a day, four days a week, with activities ranging from sports and arts to creative play. Some sessions are tailored for children with special educational needs, making HAF inclusive for all.
Tradewind Recruitment’s Role
Tradewind Recruitment contributes to HAF by donating £3 for every temporary booking they make, helping Blackpool Council expand the programme to reach more children. Their support allows HAF to provide additional activities and half-term opportunities beyond the standard holiday breaks.
A Lifeline for Families
Blackpool faces significant levels of deprivation, and many families struggle to provide consistent meals and enrichment during school holidays. HAF helps children stay healthy, active, and engaged. In the last summer, over 1,500 children attended clubs across 25 locations, taking part in activities such as climbing, sports, and arts and crafts.
