Driving Change in Educator Retention

Learn more about a survey we ran asking educators and school leaders what they really think about the main factors impacting retention.

Making a change to educator retention rates

Educator retention remains a significant challenge for schools across the UK, reflecting long standing national trends. Recent workforce statistics from the Department for Education show that teacher attrition is persistently high, highlighting the need for urgent action to improve stability and outcomes for both educators and learners.

We conducted a nationwide survey between 4 March and 17 March 2026, gathering responses from 959 educators and school leaders who shared their views on educator retention struggles.

With the insights gathered, we are delighted to share a report which provides data led, actionable recommendations designed to support school leaders in reversing negative trends, improving educator experience, and strengthening retention.
