1:1 Learning Support Assistant
1:1 Learning Support Assistant
COVID-19 notice: As schools begin their phased return we are continuing to safely recruit education staff through online registrations and telephone interviews
Our Teaching Agency, SANZA, is currently seeking an experienced and energetic learning support assistant to work 1:1 with an Early Years child who has severe Autism.
Do you want to make a significant difference in the life of a young pupil? Do you want to be impactful in the academic and social development of the child? If so, this will be a rewarding experience that will stay with you for a lifetime.
The role will require experience of Makaton and PECs, due to the high level of need this pupil has. There may also be an element of personal care that goes along with the position.
The classroom teacher and SENDCo will still have ultimate responsibility for the child's learning but you will be empowered to support the student's achievement levels and help them to realise their potential.
The school is a happy Church of England primary school. From their nursery class to Year 6, the children are at the centre of all they do and achieve. Ambitious for their pupils' academic achievements, encouraging high expectations and aspirations for children and adults alike. An inclusive, safe, learning-focused school, serving an exciting and diverse community.
After a 2-week trial period, this role will be contracted long term, starting immediately (September 2020) and running for the duration of the Academic year (until July 2021). The salary for this role will be paid at a daily rate of £70-90.
An exceptional and tailor-made Special Needs support centre means that excellent staff are well looked after and have resources and support at their disposal. The environment created can therefore be suited to all individual pupils' needs - paving the way to have the largest possible impact on academic, social and cognitive development.
To be successful for this role, you will need an Enhanced DBS Disclosure and Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable), professional reference checks, a full 10 years of employment history with any breaks explained, and the legal right to work in the UK.
