1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
You would be working 1:1 with the child across the Primary Mainstream site and within the school's specialist provision for pupils with Autism. The boy you will be supporting requires sensitive support and someone with the patience to build a positive working relationship with him. You must be willing to commit to this role as continuity for this child is essential.
There are a range of needs and abilities across the school. The student you will be supporting is non-verbal and lower ability. Creativity and a willingness to bring the learning to him is essential for success in this position. Teaching Assistants play a vital role and take an active part in assessing and supporting students to achieve their learning goals.

The Teaching Assistant would:
*Work 1:1 with a Year 1 non verbal student with Autism
*Engage in Child Led Learning
*Be confident to work independently and manage behaviour
*Support the student to develop a sense of routine
*Be creative in your approach and keep the student engaged on their level
*Work alongside a classroom teacher and a team of teaching assistants at the school

*Pupils requiring support with ASD - Autistic Spectrum Disorder and learning difficulties
