Tradewind Recruitment is seeking compassionate individuals like you to join our team as Full-Time Primary SEN Teaching Assistants in schools across Cardiff. This is your opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners with special educational needs (SEN) while gaining invaluable experience in primary education.


Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Provide one-on-one and small group support to primary school students with SEN, assisting them with their academic, social, and emotional development.
2. Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
3. Support students in accessing the curriculum and participating fully in classroom activities, providing differentiated instruction and scaffolding as necessary.
4. Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.
5. Assist with the planning and delivery of tailored interventions and support programs to address students' specific learning challenges and promote their progress.
6. Monitor students' progress and behaviour, documenting observations and communicating effectively with colleagues and parents to ensure a collaborative approach to support.
7. Promote positive social interactions and peer relationships among students, modelling inclusive behaviours and providing guidance on conflict resolution and social skills development.


Requirements:
1. Previous experience working with primary school students with SEN or disabilities, either in an educational or care setting, is preferred.
2. Strong empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting the individual needs and well-being of students with SEN.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
4. Flexibility and adaptability to respond effectively to the evolving needs of students and the school environment.
5. A valid DBS check or willingness to undergo one.
6. Training or qualifications in SEN support, such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent, are desirable but not essential.
