Tradewind are recruiting for a Primary Special Needs (SEND) Teaching Assistant to start ASAP on a full time and long term basis at a special school in Salford.

Have you got previous experience supporting young people with physical needs?

Have you done Personal Care or Moving & Handling before?

This is an Ofsted rated GOOD primary special school that caters for children aged 2-11 with a wide range of profound and complex needs. They create a warm and welcoming environment for staff, pupils, parents and outside agencies who are accessing the school site and services. There is a strong sense of respect for each individual and the school displays artwork and other materials extensively. Staff are supported and encouraged with a strong traning system in place and time for preparation, collaboration and learning. Staff are particularly complimentary about how the school works and the atmosphere within the team.

The school caters for young people at EYFS, KS1 and KS2. The children all have an EHCP for Special Needs. Pupils have a wide range of needs including PMLD, SLD, Complex Needs, Sensory Needs, Autism and many others. Many pupils require Personal Care and Moving and Handling to get around school, as such any new TA will need prior experience in one of these areas in order to be able to support pupils effectively. Some experience of working with those with communication difficulties or sensory needs would also be advantageous.

The right person will have prior experience and knowledge of SEND, will be empathetic, patient, adaptable and resilient to changing and challenging situations.
