Tradewind are working on behalf of one of our client schools in the Wigan area to recruit a DT/ Catering and Hospitality Teacher, who shows dedication and can inspire students to achieve their potential, whilst creating engaging and creative lessons. The position is to commence in March 2021 and it will be until October 2021, or until the post holder returns. The school is a well-respected, vibrant school, where everyone is encouraged to be ambitious; it has an excellent reputation for academic achievement.

The Design and Technology department have designed a course so that knowledge, skill and understanding are developed through activities that mirror work in the real-life sectors as much as possible. Extra-curricular activities are provided, along with the encouragement for work experience, where possible. DT at KS3 is designed to provide a modern and innovative learning environment trough, Product Design, Resistant Materials and the history of design. Catering and Hospitality at KS4, follows the WJEC course for the level 1/2 vocational award, which builds on the carousel of activities learnt from DT at KS3.

To be successful in the post of DT/ Catering and Hospitality Teacher, you will:

*Hold QTS or an equivalent Teaching qualification.
*Be able to and have experience of teaching DT (Product Design & Resistant Materials) to KS3
*Be able to and have experience of teaching Catering and Hospitality to KS4
*Follow the school policies on planning, marking and assessment, amongst others- you will be expected to plan, deliver and assess students' work
*Hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
*Be able to provide a full 10-year CV history-must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
* You must have the legal right to work in the UK
