About the School - Head of Science - Lambeth, South London

The school educates girls in a Church of England setting which is recognised as 'Outstanding' in its 2018 SIAMS report and 'Good' by Ofsted. Whilst examination results are a key focus, the school wishes to educate the girls, not merely process them through their exams. Each pupil is seen as an individual who should grow morally and academically in this important part of their life. The school has a thriving 6th form which educates both boys and girls. Exam results in the Science Department really give scope for immediate impact from a good leader with results currently not meeting expected levels. *Develop and implement progressive policies and practices to raise attainment
*Effectively collect and analyse data to identify interventions for individual and groups of pupils
*Develop and establish a shared vision for excellent Science teaching and learning
*Ensure curriculum coverage for all pupils with appropriate provision for SEN (including Higher Ability)
*Provide clear guidance, direction and mentoring for teaching staff
*Evaluate the effectiveness of teaching across the school
*Provide clear processes for establishing effective relationships between the department and pupil's parents and carers
