Tradewind are currently working with an excellent school in North Lincolnshire, who are searching for an excellent practitioner to lead their technology department, for the full first term (September - Christmas), this may then be extended or even made into a permanent position. The academy are looking for a strong practitioner, with previous leadership experience, to teach on a reduced timetable while leading the large department. Ideally, the successful candidate would be an engineering specialist, but the academy would be interested in hearing from a candidate with any technology discipline as their specialism, so long as the candidate has a strong working understanding of the other facets of technology. The academy would be willing to be flexible with timetabling, to ensure the candidate is happy. The department will consist of an array of technologies, and the arts as well.
The academy is part of a large and extremely successful multi-academy chain, and has continued to secure a great reputation within the area. With excellent results year on year, the technology department has gone from strength to strength, and you will be leading a group of exceptional teachers. The academy is extremely devoted to developing staff, and ensuring that their staff are developed. As such they are looking for a practitioner who is looking to learn, but also eager to ensure that they part on their knowledge. One of the key advantages to being part of an acclaimed academy trust, is the sharing of resources across the country, meaning you will be provided with excellent resources and training. Ideally, the academy is looking for someone with previous experience in leading a department, but a practitioner that has held responsibility within a department, possibly as a Key Stage leader or a second in department, would also be valued highly.
As mentioned above, an engineering specialism would be ideal for the academy, but any technology specialism would be considered. The position is initially a temporary contract, for the first term of the 2019/2020 academic year, with the view to extension. Payment for this position will be between £200 and £250 per day, but this figure is negotiable.
