Lead Practitioner in Religious Studies

Tradewind Recruitment are working on behalf of a school to recruit for a Lead Practitioner in Religious Studies for a secondary school based in Ellesmere Port.

The role is a full academic year role at a modern academy school located in Ellesmere Port. It is a full-time position with normal school hours of 8:20am to 3:10pm. As a lead practitioner you will be responsible for supporting and mentoring a developed Humanities department and working closely with the head of department to ensure high standards of teaching and subject knowledge are maintained throughout the year.

Responsibilities:

  1. Curriculum Leadership: Design, implement, and review an engaging and challenging Religious Studies curriculum that aligns with national standards and the school's ethos.

  2. Teaching and Learning: Deliver high-quality, innovative lessons that cater to diverse learning styles, fostering a love for Religious Studies among students.

  3. Team Collaboration: Lead and support a team of passionate teachers, promoting a collaborative and supportive culture within the department.

  4. Professional Development: Identify and address the professional development needs of the Religious Studies team, ensuring continuous improvement in teaching standards.

  5. Student Engagement: Implement strategies to enhance student engagement and achievement, providing additional support and challenge where necessary.

  6. Assessment and Feedback: Develop effective assessment strategies, providing timely and constructive feedback to students to support their progress.

  7. Community Engagement: Foster positive relationships with parents, guardians, and the wider community to promote the importance of Religious Studies in education.

To be considered for this role, we will need -

  • Full Qualified Teaching Status in the UK with specialism in Religious Studies.
  • Previous senior leadership experience.
  • Proof of Right to Work, this could be your Passport or Birth Certificate.
  • A CV that covers 10 years of education or employment.
  • A fully enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to process one with us. (We will refund the cost of the DBS)
