Tradewind are currently recruiting for a qualified Primary Teacher to work at a SEMH Primary school in Surrey, teaching a Key Stage 2 class. The role is full time and long term to start as soon as possible, for the full academic year until July 2021 and will most likely become permanent for the right candidate.



The school is a Good Ofsted rated school providing for students with EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) aged 5-11 with Social, Emotional Mental Health needs (SEMH), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and associated challenging behaviour.



The role is to teach a class with a maximum of 8 students in Key Stage 2. The school follow the full National Curriculum and this KS2 class all learn at Year 3 or 4 level. There are multiple years in one class from Year 3 - 6 and all students have SEMH and or ASD with behavioural needs, so the successful teacher will need to have strong behaviour management skills and experience. Teaching Assistants will be supporting within the class to help students engage in lessons and to manage any behavioural issues to ensure lessons run smoothly and students make progress.

The school are ideally looking for a qualified teacher with experience teaching in UK schools, strong behavioural management and a good command of written and spoken English and literacy skills.



There are services offered to students by the school such as play therapy, speech and language therapy and an educational psychologist who will work collaboratively with you and other teachers, ensuring that pupils can engage in learning and reach their full potential. The school's ethos is to ensure children are able to build confidence, make progress with their learning, improve social skills and behaviour and when possible, return to mainstream school.



The school is easily accessible by several popular bus routes and is a short walk from a well connected train station with good links to London.



Essential requirements:

QTS, qualified teacher status.

Experience planning and teaching lessons to primary aged students following the National Curriculum.

Experience with challenging behaviour and SEMH.

Experience supporting young people with special educational needs, specifically Social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

Enthusiastic, resilient and positive approach.

Must have legal right to work in the UK.
