My client school are recruiting for an EYFS teacher for the second half of the Spring term and the Summer term. The school is smaller than the average-sized primary, in the lovely and picturesque City of Ely.
The school was recently graded as "Good" by Ofsted. The pupils are described in the OFSTED report as "engaged and eager to learn". The school has improved dramatically over the past few years due to the guidance of the Headteacher and SLT.
The EYFS stage is particularly praised, with the children making excellent progress from their various starting points. Children enter the early years with levels of development that are broadly typical of their age, the proportion who reach a good level of development by the end of the Reception Year has been above the national average consistently since 2014. Attendance at the school is good and this is celebrated during assemblies, which are frequently attended by parents.
The ideal teacher will be one with a caring and nurturing attitude which is evidenced by their continued excellent practice. You will be able to create and maintain a stimulating learning environment, both indoors and outdoors, which supports all aspects of learning.
You will be responsible for ensuring continued good behaviour and building excellent relationships with pupils, parents and other team members. The classroom is a calm and safe learning environment with clear routines and expectations. It is essential that you foster a sense of independent learning and pride in the work completed. There is also the option of running the school playgroup for the right teacher.
Based in Northern Cambridgeshire, this school is on a major bus route, is a 15-minute cycle from the train station (Cambridge is 20 minutes away by train), and is easily accessible by road from the A10 and other local villages. There is ample parking available and is within a short walk from local shops.
