Tradewind are recruiting! Are you a Primary Teacher in Bury looking for a role until the end of the academic year? Tradewind have a Year 2 Teaching post we think you will be interested in.

Tradewind are currently recruiting an outstanding Primary Teacher to teach a wonderful Year 2 class at a Primary School in the Whitefield area of Bury. Due to an unforeseen absence, you will be required immediately and until the end of this academic year. The daily rate for this Year 2 position will match your experience and the school have advised that they are open to NQT applicants.

About the School

As the successful applicant in this Year 2 class teacher role, you will be working in a wonderful 'Good' Primary school in a rural part of the Whitefield area. Set in a picturesque, recently refurbished 'old fashioned' building, this school has a real traditional feel to it. Over the last couple of years, this school have become one of the most popular schools within its cluster and has boasted above national average SATS results for the last 5 years.

You will have the support from a brilliant Head Teacher who has over 15 years of experience and 10 as a senior leader. The Head Teacher has a fantastic reputation within the local authority and has forged strong relationships with parents and local business within the community.

This school has strong transport links as well as a large, secure staff car park.

The Year 2 class is a mixed ability group of 28 children. Like all schools this year, most of the children are working below age related expectations. Therefore, there will be a heavy responsibility on bridging the gap in the childrens learning. To help with this, your class will have a full time HLTA who will help with interventions throughout the school day.

Your main responsibilities will include.

  • Undertake full class teaching responsibilities for a Year 2 class
  • Thoroughly planning lessons for the Year 2 class, making full use of resources that are available to you.
  • Assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress and attainment of pupils, as well as their personal and social needs.
  • Teaching a balanced curriculum and ensuring that each child fulfils his or her potential by providing high levels of teaching standards.
  • Organising intervention session for children within you class in line with the National Tuition Programme

Essential requirements:

  • Fully qualified Teacher Status
  • Experience in Keys Stage 1 is desired, specifically in Year 2
  • The school have specified that a specialism in a core subject would be beneficial in this role.
  • A proven track record with references to support this.
