Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a Youth Worker to be based within an alternative provision. You will be working with children aged from 11-16 who are at risk of being excluded or have been excluded from their mainstream school.

You will work from a site based in St Helen's during term time between the hours of 8.30-3.30pm. The role is classroom based as part of the learning team, to assist these young people in developing the skills to integrate back into their mainstream school.
These children have more often than not come from varied backgrounds and as a result deal with associated social and emotional issues linked to attachment and trauma.

We look for:
* Experience working with young people, preferably in Youth Centres or residential children's homes
* Previous experience with challenging behaviours
* Calm but positive attitude to challenging situations
* Skills to empower young people to make them believe they can achieve
* Excellent listening skills
* Maths and English GCSE as a minimum
