To start immediately, this role involves supported students with a range of cognitive, physical and medical needs. Students are aged 3 to 17 years old. What makes this school unique is that it is set on the grounds of a mainstream academy, allowing for collaboration with mainstream students on a regular basis. The school's goals involve promoting confidence and independence in all students, encouraging them to become motivated and integrated members of the community.

Experience supporting someone with special needs is essential in this role, whether it be personal or professional experience. Personal cares and manual handling is required in most classes in the school. The Teaching Assistant will:
*Work 1:1 or in a classroom
*Support students to develop the skills needed to move into adult life with confidence
*Teach vital independence skills such as travel, cooking and community links
*Understand each student and their disability, and support students to cope with emotional stresses that arise from this
*Empower students to take responsibility and manage their disability
*Support students to develop communication skills and healthy living choices

*90-110 pupils on site
