Would you be interested in working with nursery students on a 1:1 basis who have severe special educational needs?

The Primary Support Team at Tradewind Recruitment are working with a large school in Redbridge who offers a caring, nurturing and supportive community for students to learn in. They are currently recruiting for a SEN TA to join them in November 2019 to look after two students five days per week.

This Redbridge School is an Ofsted rated 'Good' school, where pupils work hard and have positive attitudes to learning. Everyone at the school are inclusive of all faith and backgrounds, and the school leaders have created a happy environment for its children to learn in. Within the school there is a high proportion of students with special educational needs, but they make strong progress in reading, writing and mathematics due to the hard working and supportive staff who go above and beyond to ensure success. The facilities at the school are very good, and students have access to two large playgrounds and outdoor learning spaces. Located in walking distance from Seven Kings, this Primary School can be accessed on TfL rail and Greater Anglia line. If commuting by car, there is a parking nearby which staff can use and there is space on the residential streets nearby.

This Primary School is looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who can commit to working five days a week on a long-term role. Hours that the successful candidate need to commit to are 8.30am-4.00pm, and during this time they will be responsible for one child in the morning and one child in the afternoon in the nursery.

The needs of the children are very specific so experience with SEN is crucial. Within the nursery there are students with challenging behaviour and those who are in the very early stages of communication. Some of the students are not yet toilet trained, so the successful candidate must be prepared to work with children and provide personal care throughout the day. Needs include autism and cerebral palsy, so the SEN TA needs to be proactive and assist students so that they can engage with their learning and progress.
