An outstanding, well established SEN school in Trafford is looking to appoint 2 SEND Teaching Assistant, to provide essential and life changing support to their pupils with learning difficulties.

The successful applicant will have experience working with children with SEND needs or vulnerable adults. The role will involve assisting the class teacher with children with severe leaning difficulties, complex medical needs, ASD and challenging behaviour.

Daily tasks will include supporting the students individually and in groups with core subjects, keeping them engaged and on task with their learning.

The successful applicant will have:
- Experience of working with students with a variety of learning difficulties and medical needs
- Resilience
- A desire to encourage children to succeed
- A caring, patient and calm personality
- The ability to provide personal care e.g. toileting and feeding the students
- Team teach and moving and handling training is desirable
Experience of working or volunteering in a SEND school is essential

This is a long term position, with the potential to becoming permanent after 12 weeks.

The role will include:
- Providing assistance to the class teacher
- To manage small groups of children independently
- Placements in a variety of classes with varying abilities
- To support the general well-being of the students in the school
- To monitor and evaluate pupils learning under the guidance of the teacher
- To assist the teachers in the use of relevant management strategies to ensure a purposeful environment for teaching and learning to take place
