Role Overview:

As a SEND Support Assistant, you'll collaborate closely with class teachers, the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), and other professionals to provide tailored support for children with additional needs. Your role involves implementing strategies to support their academic, social, and emotional development.

Responsibilities:

• Delivering targeted support to children with SEND in Reception or Year 5.
• Assisting in planning and implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour plans.
• Supporting children in their learning journey, encouraging independence, and fostering a positive learning environment.
• Collaborating with teachers and specialists to ensure personalised support is provided.
• Maintaining accurate records and progress reports on the children's development.

Requirements:

• Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
• Understanding of diverse learning needs and strategies to support them.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Relevant qualifications or training in SEND would be advantageous.
• Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to positively impact children's lives.
