Tradewind Recruitment are working alongside a large primary school, based in Cotteridge, Birmingham to recruit experienced and dependable SEN Teaching Assistants to help support a range of children with a variety of needs.
As part of the role of an SEN teaching assistant, you will be expected to:
- prepare learning materials
- adapt teaching support according to student's needs
- look after children's physical, social and emotional welfare
- create an interesting environment for students
- keep records and attend review meetings
- work with professionals such as speech and language therapists
*Your working environment may be physically and emotionally demanding.
The school are looking for multiple people to work in a range of roles across EYFS, KS1 and KS2. Successful candidates will be offered year groups that best fit their experience. The working hours for this role are: 08.30 AM - 03.30 PM (Monday to Friday) on a term time basis.
Requirements:
- Level 2/3 in childcare/supporting teaching or equivalent
- Experience working in a similar role or completing school based placements (UK education system)
- Understanding of supporting SEN needs in school (Additional training available via The National College)
- Understanding of safeguarding and be familiar with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) 2023/4
- You must be able to provide references to cover the last 5 years of employment
Those candidates who successfully meet the entry requirements for this role will also be required to show proof of or obtain DBS certificate (which must be on the update service) and be available to complete a paid work trial at the school.
