Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Key Stage 1)
Location: Small Village, Outside Chesterfield
Type: Full-Time, January Start
About Us: Our small primary school, nestled in a charming village just outside Chesterfield, is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team. We have a mixed Year 1 and Year 2 class, and we're seeking a skilled individual to support the teaching day alongside our class teacher. Your role will be vital in nurturing the academic and personal growth of our young students.
Position Overview: As a Teaching Assistant for Key Stage 1, you will work closely with the class teacher to support various aspects of the teaching day. This role will require you to assist small groups of children in their English and mathematics studies. Experience in working with children in Key Stage 1 is crucial, and experience with children on the autism spectrum (ASD) is highly beneficial for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the class teacher to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Provide support to small groups of students in English and mathematics.
- Assist with classroom management and behaviour support.
- Adapt teaching materials to meet the individual needs of students.
- Foster a safe and inclusive learning space for all children.
Qualifications:
- Teaching Assistant qualification to at least Level 2.
- Proven experience working with children in Key Stage 1.
- Experience working with children with ASD is a significant advantage.
