Tradewind Hull are working with a wonderful partnership school in Pocklington and are recruiting for an experienced teaching assistant to work full time, until the end of the academic year. Payment for this position will be between £65.00 and £70.00 per day, depending on experience and qualifications. The position is due to start on the 12th April.
You will be working primarily 1:1 with a student in year 10. You will be working with a student diagnosed with ASD, so experience working with similar young people is desirable. You will be supporting across a number of different subject areas, so a specialist subject area is not desirable. We are ideally looking for a candidate with teaching assistant experience.
The school has a large onsite car park for candidates who drive, and is easiest to access via car. It is accessible on limited bus routes from areas such as Beverley and York. The school caters for students aged 11-18, is a large secondary school, and creates a warm and welcoming environment to all temporary staff members.
The role:
* Assisting the teacher in delivering work with the child
* Developing curricular knowledge as required by the school
* Undertaking observations of pupils and contributing to pupil records
* Abiding by and work towards all the policies within the school e.g. behaviour management, Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities
* Carrying out the above duties in accordance with the Children's Services Department's Equal Opportunities Policy.
Essential requirements:
Experience working as a Teaching Assistant
Experience working with students who often display challenging behaviour
All work with Tradewind requires a DBS on the update service, and collection of at least two verified references.
